Welcome!
Welcome to my PSU Architectural Engineering Thesis website! I will be analyzing and designing the structure of a 7 story hotel in Secaucus, New Jersey. The objective of my thesis is to inspect whether 7 stories of light gage metal framing, or 5 stories of wood framing on top of a concrete podium is more economical to build. New 2015 building codes will allow 5 stories of wood on top of 2 stories of concrete, rather than the previous 1 story of concrete. Although wood framing contains issues that owners may not want to deal with, economy and schedule may sway their stance. Ehlert Bryan, Inc. can be thanked for the proposed project. Feel free to navigate through my site!
The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.
